Totally tropical

This is summer dressing for all us monochrome lovers.  A super soft jersey jumpsuit is the easiest trend this summer and perfect with sliders or heels. Neutral prints make them easy to wear again and again.  Is the jumpsuit the new dress?  These Aldo totes are a great addition and come in cobalt blue and orange as well as the every day shades such as black, brown and white.  Their contrasting lining is a fun touch - this black has a magenta inside.

Cut out and duffels

Sunday mornings are for lie ins, coffee and wandering pretty cobbled streets.  This sunday all three were achieved to perfection.  Browsing the castles and antique shops in Lewes is one of my favourite hobbies alongside choosing which house in which Twitten I will move to one day. Sussex is one of the few places that the British word for 'A narrow path or passage between two walls or hedges' is still used and I rather like it.  This light weight black silk blazer is perfect for this warm weather and goes with everything.  If you haven't yet visited Lewes you really should spend a weekend - it is simply gorgeous.

Weekend in Keswick

This is the perfect place to spend a romantic weekend even when the weather can't be relied upon. Keswick is a stunning tiny town in the Lake District near Lake Windermere surrounded by snow covered hills, beautiful woodlands and clear streams.  Less than 4 hours from London it is ideal for a Friday night get away, and wake up on Saturday to views to die for.  The Grange Country House in Keswick is a lovely little B&B with great service and delicious breakfasts - I highly recommend a visit. Spend the weekend walking the lakes, climbing the hills, paddling in the waterfalls and eating your weight in Cow Pie at The Bank Tavern.  I will be back again soon Keswick... promise x

Summer Loving

Hello Summer.  You are finally here.  Your long hot days, your walks on the beach and your beautiful stores filled with new sandals.  Going from months and months of boots and socks to bare feel and pretty shoes can mean giving a little TLC to your feet.  To get super smooth heels forget the pumice and pick up one of these Micro Pedi pedicure gadgets.  They are so easy to use and give you beautiful feet fast.  You will wonder how you coped without one. The only tricky decision is deciding on what colour nail varnish to use.

Sheer delight

Usually I avoid any sort of layering in this hot humid weather but this sheer Rare London floral skirt is definitely an exception to the rule.  This pink and white mesh and polyester midi is a perfect example of the bold floral prints that are key this summer.  Instead of dressing it up style it down with an oversized tee and grungy sandals. For evenings just add a leather or black denim jacket or an oversized knit.  I love these black floral Birkenstocks and duffel bag which make it a perfect beach and bar outfit.  If you are not a regular Rare London shopper take a look at the online store at www.rarelondon.com today xx

Dune

Today Dune showcased their Autumn Winter delights at their London Press Day and I was lucky enough to pop along and take a look. The sunlight beamed through rooms filled with metalic pointed courts in butter soft leather and rows of glitter on glitter. Shoes and bags were a mix of fun 70s glam and ladylike styles that could be styled day to night all season. Studs and pony skin adorned kitten heels which would be delicious styled with leather trousers and an oxblood fur coat. Mermaid metalic heels had the magpie in us stamping our feet and refusing to leave without them. Flats were a huge focus with gothic grungy textures in blacks and greys. I cannot wait for this designer looking collection to land in store.

Lovely collection Dune.

Which is your favorite?

Pasta Weekend

A weekend may not be a weekend without Pasta! I know this is a rather bold statement but I cannot get enough of a fresh seafood linguine or a rich local beef lasagne on a cosy Friday night in. This weekend was Candelini fresh from the deli with a rabbit ragu and several large glasses of red. I just wish the Candelini was smaller and lighter!

Seventeen

Today at the Seventeen press day the gorgeous make-up artist said to me 'we just don't shop the Seventeen counter'.  She was right.  This was in reference to the fact the products are brilliant, and feel fabulous on the skin and yet so many people don't even browse the stand due to still remembering their teen days of hair mascara and blue eyeliner.  Seventeen is no longer that brand.

The huge range includes luxury feel concealer Phwoarr which is super soft and glides on, the cc cream with SPF 25 and the new off the walls nail metals which look like marble over a white polish.  The packaging is fun and clean and the colours are perfect for so many skin tones.

I am extremely excited about having a full on try out of the above Seventeen stash and will give you my low down on whats hot and worth swapping into your make-up bag soon.

Natures Way

An additional pic from my pink phase with nature creating its own beautiful archway.  These bluebells may have now come and gone but luckily these pink tailored shorts are still hanging in my wardrobe just waiting for the sun to come back out.

COSMETICS 27 BY ME

Hello wonderful, wonderful beauty brand.

The 'Cosmetics 27 by ME' laboratory was started in 2009 with a huge focus on cell repair.  The brand now has a short line of essential products named after the 'Baume 27' that all focus around the plant Centella Asiatica.  The central product, the Baume 27, is a rich energising cell repair cream that makes skin feel fantastic!  A small amount goes a long way and the cream soaks in leaving skin well moisturised and dewy.  Other essentials in the collection are the Essence which calms skin and hydrates under the Baume and the Cleanser that purifies, cleans and re-builds elasticity.  I highly recommend giving this brand a go.  It is not to be missed.
