Simple black and white dressing

Just a quick snap of a simple black and white outfit for a little mid-week dressing.  I love the chunky silver zip on this dress and throwing it over a white tee keeps it casual.  Just add tights, ankle boots and red lips - done.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar for perfect skin

Wind. Air conditioning. Heating. They are all killers for skin.  French beauty brand La Roche-Posay specialises in sensitive skin and has worked with dermatologists all over the world for over 30 years.  All products use a unique thermal spring water as their base which is soothing and filled with antioxidants.  Effaclar Duo is an anti-blemish cream that unclogs pores and refines skin. The delicate cream is ideal as a base for foundation also.  You really do see marks vanish with only a few uses.  This product is best for oily skin and targets shine as well as marks and redness.

Shhh, pick up Plush Balm

Don't tell everyone, but this is a great little secret.  Pick up this Plush Balm from & Other Stories and use it on chapped lips, dry skin and anywhere that needs softening and hydrating.  Perfect to pop in your handbag and take everywhere.  Love the packaging too.

Sunday morning coffee

My favourite morning of the week, Sunday.  You cannot beat the sunshine beaming through the open windows, the smell of fresh country air and a nice strong coffee. My usually grey and white home is filled with beautiful coloured spring blooms and a copy of Elle to browse. If only every morning could start this way xx

Burberry Brutes and a bit of sparkle

Possibly my favourite belongings.  I would run into a burning building to save them.  From the moment  I saw them walk down the Burberry Catwalk I longed for them, dreamt of them, and now I wear them... occasionally.  True, they do not leave their shelf very often, mainly because they are close to inches high.  Behind my house the grass has never been greener.  Five minutes of sun followed but five of rain and then on repeat, for 8 weeks. I am wearing a Zara studded black leather look biker jacket over the cutest Dorothy Perkins thick glitter dress.  Burberry Brutes, happy valentines day my loves x

A preen dress, a pink coat, a hurricane and a castle.

These beautiful old castle ruins on my doorstep are one of my true loves.  I thought I would introduce them to a few more of my true loves, my Preen Peony dress and my New Look hot pink coat.  The sun was beaming although being late in the day it wasn't at it's warmest. The hurricane also didn't keep the warmth in, but did give me a great mohican!  It's amazing how a little colour can brighten your day.  Keep an eye out for more great New Look coats here x

DKNY at NYFW

DKNK has been back in our fashion radar for a few seasons now, and certainly since Cara jumped on a New York taxi for their campaign. The brand where luxury meets urban street has put together a season of beautiful, fun staples. Every piece that walked the catwalk during Fashion Week was a completely wearable 'Must Have'. The DKNY staples are evolving with the white soled black heeled boots, check rucksacks and sports sweats. The mini mermaid shaped skirts and dresses still there in grey thick lace and bubblegum pink. The cobalt blue check dresses, coats and tees are everyday lux items I can't wait to get my hands on. This season I very much want to be a DKNY girl.

With this cold wet weather we can actually start taking styling tips from these AW14 looks now and I am loving the bare legs, charcoal socks and boots. Easy yet effective.

Boyfriend coat in pastels and neon

Oh I do love it when neon meets pastels.  This pale blue Miss Selfridge collarless oversized coat is just to die for. Wear all spring over a fresh white shirt and neatly rolled skinny jeans. The best news?  It is currently on offer for only £55.30 (was £79.00).  Go on, treat yourself x

Check Blazer meets Red Lipstick

This weekend we did a little local sightseeing including visiting the old Science Centre just down the road. The building is one of my favourites and is surrounded by the greenest fields which makes it the perfect summer picnic hideaway.  You do feel a little like zombies could flood out of the old rotting domes and kill off the world at any minute, but I still find it utterly fascinating.

It is not summer however, in fact we had another hurricane whilst hanging out in the mix of sunshine and hail. I am trying any attempt at the moment to wear anything other than a large coat but with heavy rain day in day out it's not easy.  I jumped at the chance to wear a blazer in the sunshine.  This check black and red one is a recent favourite from High St queen Dorothy Perkins. I'm keeping it simple here over a Zara lace blouse and leather look trousers with my new sale purchase boots from River Island.

A New Look Denim Day

You know it's Spring when you fall in love with denim again.  The High St gets bigger and better with their denim collections every year and this one is no exception.  Today I went along to New Looks denim only press event in London to find out what this classic fabric means in 2014. Every shade of blue in a range of high fashion jeans and dresses and simple good fits.  The cute fashion dungaree shorts and dresses and washed chambray camis filled the blue room while we sipped blue lagoon cocktails and ate blue popcorn and candyfloss.  I cant wait to get my hands on some of these wear-all-summer pieces.  These skinny dungarees in store and online now are going to be my first purchase and will be followed with a shorts version.  Wear now with black heels and a white sheer panel blouse.  Lovely work New Look and what a great collection!
