Smoothly smoothly

Being determined to get some serious partying in this Christmas I am still all about the perfect party pack. Looking good is feeling good and little handbag essentials really can make all the difference. So I've already thrown in my teeny Mark Hill mini straighteners to help against windswept locks, and now for a little biro sized product.

This John Frieda Full Repair smooth flyways stick is amazing! I can't quite work out why nobody has thought of it before. Do you remember those coloured hair mascaras they we used to sweep purple and neon pink thick gunk through our hair around ten years ago? Well this is the same concept, apart from instead of thick colour it smooths through a light silky serum.

The product smooths fine hairs and fly aways so is ideal for keeping strays at bay during our winters (it would also be perfect on a hot holiday for beach hair). The product doesn't go hard and is also a heat protector so you don't have to worry when using it on baby hair or frazzled ends. It's mascara end makes it very eary to sweep on for after work drinks.  I am so impressed that this little baby isn't leaving my handbag. Highly recommend, pic one of these up in Boots for just £10.99 now xx

Perfect Christmas On The Go

It's this time of year that you realise just how bulky and heavy your straighteners are.  Christmas parties, drinks after work and lots of late last minute plans are what make this the season to be merry, however lugging around a sack just incase can ruin it all.

I am trying to put together the perfect holiday package that fits into my handbag.  England is not known for its winter weather and we will have plenty of rain over the next few months.  Luckily I can do a last minute tweak and style with these itzy bitzy yet perfectly formed Mark Hill straighteners.  Don't be fooled, they may be small but they are very effective.  The shape makes them perfect for shaping, fringes and putting in curls whilst being big enough to do an all over job if needed.

They even come with a heat proof case so you don't have to wait for them to cool down before popping them in your handbag.  These are the perfect treat for yourself to make sure you get the most out of the party season.  Pick up these Mini Iconic straight and smooth ones on markhill.co.uk now for £39.99 - also available in Boots stores.

Fruit Salad

After loving Touche by Flavien's Shampoo and Conditioner in 'Shine Baby Shine' last month I couldn't wait to try some more of Flavien Abbas beautifully natural haircare.

The key ingredients to the collection include the miracle Prickly Pear oil.  This pricy rare ingredient is rich in Vitamin E , has a high moisture content and is a natural anti-oxident.  This Leave in conditioner is a new favourite and smells just divine!  Just a small amount on damp or dry hair beats frizz whilst adding shine and hydrating.  Winter can be so drying on my hair and it can loose a lot of shine.  Is it the heating or the icy mornings?  It is a joy to use a little of this product onto my ends every morning to freshen my day and smooth my locks!  Pick up a little fruity lifesaver now for a pre- Christmas treat for your hair.  Available at Urban Retreat and at Fenwicks for £39. xx

A little piece of spring time.

I was lucky enough to get invited along to the Asos Spring Summer 2014 press show to see a preview of their collections.  The only problem with this is now, at the start of our long cold British winter I just want it to be summer again.  The pieces were exquisite, with a focus on texture across all the ranges.  The trends were full of minimal shapes and structures and sheer fabrics in neutrals, whites and a hint of pastel neon.

Some of my favourites were the candy pink ladylike bag, the palest grey zip detail dress and the Celine style chunky metallic sandals with the double sole.  The sunglasses with mirror lenses and rounded chunky frames will also be jumping into my wardrobe!  I can't wait for these shades to fill my wardrobe again, but in the mean time I will be stocking up from their site for Christmas xx

Ok, I'm giving in to sparkle.

Yes, back to my Christmas obsession.  I try not to get into the Christmas mood for as long as possible but now it's November I'm giving in.  Christmas is all about a little sparkle and these stunning L.K.Bennett kitten heels are just perfect for this time of year, and to bring a smile to my face.  I will be wearing mine with black trousers, a crisp white shirt and a tiny black velvet ribbon tie.  For drinks with friends they will be ideal with a swinging full midi skirt and a glass of sherry. L.K. Bennett you have done us proud xx

That Christmas feeling.

I love Christmas.  It doesn't matter how old I get it never seems to lose it's magic.  From the launch of the windows at Selfridges and Harvey Nichols to cracking open the sherry and mulled wine there is nothing I don't like about this time of year.  The chill in the air and the big winter fur coats just add to the very British Christmas.

This year it doesn't get more British than the launch of the truly beautiful M&S advert featuring Rosie and David.  For anyone artistically minded or if you just love a fairytale this is two and a half minutes of complete pleasure.  A mash up of Alice in Wonderland, Little red riding hood and The wizard of Oz all done in the glitz and glamour of the brands perfect Christmas collection.

I, like a lot of people feel a special connection with M&S and this year feel we should all be supporting one of our Countries greatest brands.  I shall be shopping there for everything including my Turkey Sandwich, winter cashmere and perfect hosiery.

Blow me away

It's like my fiance with his garage I guess - a bad tool is worse than no tool at all.

I have a slight obsession with hairdryers, and tools in general.  I have had so many bad, useless hairdryers in the past.  It may be just a hairdryer, however they can be drying, frizz hair, take forever and generally ruin it.  This is my most recent love ... and it is love.  This Boutique Italian Dryer 2400 by Babyliss is a little beaut.  Italian made, it's super fast and very lightweight.  It's iconic conditioning system makes for frizz free results which is just what you need in this wet, wintery season.  I am hugely impressed, mostly with the speed of this guy.  I have lots of hair, although it is quite thin, and this means it can take forever to get dry enough to leave the house. This is the perfect luxury dryer and a fabulous Christmas present, even to yourself.

I can't wait to check out more perfect tools from this great brand xx
